Alaskan Highway photos

Alaskan Highway

Frankie and I patiently wait for Chuck and Mechanic #2 to diagnose new problem in Chetwyn, BC. We were fortunate to be stuck there long enough to see "What happens in Vegas" at the local movie theater. The locals in the movie theater howled in laughter at this movie!

We begin our trip on the Alaskan Canadian Highway in Dawson Creek, BC. Lots of tourism surrounding the Mile Zero city of the Alcan Hwy. Not one restaurant, however. This is where Chuck learns how to change a fuel filter like a pro.

Mechanic #3 invited us to his house to teach Chuck how to change the almighty fuel filter...he's changed 7 now.

We stayed in some pretty awful RV parks along the Alcan Hwy, but Muncho Lake was spectacular. Vanna loved her lake front spot.

Chuck is all smiles after buying beer in Dawson City, the last city on the Alcan Hwy. Gas was over $7/gallon.

We all line up to cross on the ferry. Since we have a regular sized vehicle we were able to bypass this line. Each ferry only fits 2 of these giant motor homes. They wait in line up to 5 hours for a ferry that takes 5 minutes. We waited 15 minutes. yeah Vanna!

Chuck's face is beginning to show a little stress from driving on the Top of The World Hwy. Lots of rain, mud, holes and steep ascents. Vanna, with her new water/fuel problem does not like this hwy.

This was a little stressful, needless to say.
